Buccaneers' Jacquies Smith: Misses practice Wednesday

Smith (ankle) missed practice Wednesday, Joe Kania of the Buccaneers official site reports.

Smith suffered the injury during the Week 8 overtime victory over the Falcons, and his status for Week 9 is officially in question. The second-year pro is leading the Bucs in sacks with five while starting at left defensive end. Rookie Howard Jones, who returned a Kirk Cousins fumble caused by Smith for a touchdown earlier this season, may get the call against the Giants if Smith is unable to suit up in Week 9.
