Samuelsson signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Canadiens on Saturday.
Samuelsson has found it tough to find his way in the NHL after being drafted by the Penguins in 2009, appearing in just 13 games with no points to show for it. The 24-year-old spent a majority of this past season with AHL Springfield, scoring four goals and adding 27 helpers, and has some work to do if he'd like to establish himself with Montreal.
