Indians' Andrew Miller: Allows one run, strikes out three Thursday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Miller came on in the ninth inning of Thursday's win over the Orioles and allowed one run while also fanning three batters.

The southpaw allowed a leadoff walk which led to an RBI double from Manny Machado, but Miller quickly shook it off and retired Jonathan Schoop and Mark Trumbo to secure the win for Cleveland. Still, Miller has set such a high standard for himself that it's surprising when he allows a base runner, let alone an earned run. With Cody Allen on the paternity list, Miller could be the Indians' primary closing option for the next two games, which ups his save potential for a brief window.

Indians' Andrew Miller: Fan three through two frames
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Miller struck out three batters without allowing a baserunner through two scoreless innings during Wednesday's win over Baltimore.

While fantasy owners would love to see more than three wins and just a single save in Miller's stat line, his 1.43 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 12.9 K/9 are still elite marks. He's worth a roster spot in all settings and would probably be next in line for saves if Cody Allen is injured or pitches his way out of the closer job.

Indians' Andrew Miller: Records first save of 2017
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Miller recorded his first save of the season Sunday against the Twins.

Miller needed just 15 pitches to get through the ninth and lock down the game for the Indians. Of course, this was an abnormal scenario for Cleveland, with manager Terry Francona opting to use Cody Allen, who usually closes games (15 saves this season), in the eighth, which is when Miller usually fulfills his setup role. It will be interesting to see if Francona rolls with this new formula going forward, since Miller would inevitably eat up the team's saves.

Indians' Andrew Miller: Gives up first homer in Tuesday's loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Miller was tagged with his first loss of the year Tuesday after allowing a run on two hits while striking out a pair over 1.2 innings against the Dodgers.

The left-hander stood tall on the mound during parts of the sixth, seven, and eighth innings. Cody Bellinger hit a solo home run that buckled Miller's night in the eighth inning with the score locked 2-2. The rookie's shot was the first home run Miller had given up all season, and it ended the reliever's 11-game streak of not allowing an earned run. Tuesday was nothing more than a blip on the radar screen, and owners can push forward with full confidence that Miller will begin a new stretch of dominance in his next out.

Indians' Andrew Miller: Fans three Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Miller struck out all three batters he faced in Sunday's win against Kansas City.

Although the game was in hand, manager Terry Francona called on Miller since the left-hander hadn't pitched since Tuesday. Through 24 games, the 32-year-old has allowed just one earned run over 27.1 innings (0.33 ERA) while amassing a ridiculous 13.2 K/9 this season.
