Nationals' Daniel Murphy: Smashes pair of doubles against Dodgers
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Murphy went 2-for-4 with a pair of Doubles in an 8-4 loss to the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Murphy continues his phenomenal 2016 campaign with a his 26th and 27th doubles of the season, the second of which was inches from being his 19th homer. Tuesday's performance raises his batting line to .352/.390/.613. Anyone waiting for Murphy to come back to earth is still waiting, as it's 88 games into the season and he's still putting up MVP type numbers in his age 31 season.

Nationals' Daniel Murphy: Held out again as a precaution
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Murphy (hamstring) is out of the lineup Sunday against the Pirates, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.

Murphy will effectively sit out the entire three-game series against Pittsburgh due to some hamstring soreness that surfaced following the All-Star Game. With a scheduled team day off Monday it will effectively be six consecutive days of rest for Murphy, provided he isn't used as a pinch hitter Sunday. Fantasy owners need not stress too much about the second baseman, however, as Chelsea Janes of the Washington Post reports that Murphy was both jogging and taking BP on the field Saturday, implying a return is right around the corner.

Nationals' Daniel Murphy: Expects to return Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Murphy (hamstring) is expected to return to the Nationals' lineup Sunday, Mark Zuckerman of masnsports.com reports.

He was scratched from Friday's lineup due to general leg soreness, and although Murphy said he'd be good to go Saturday, manager Dusty Baker is giving the 31-year-old one more day off as a precaution. Murphy, one of the game's hottest hitters entering the All-Star break, is expected to start at first base Sunday against Chad Kuhl and the Pirates.
