| Chen has winning streak snapped: After winning each of his last three starts, Royals pitcher Bruce Chen did not have the same success on Friday night against the Orioles. He allowed six runs on seven hits over four-plus innings in the 8-2 loss. The left-hander gave up one run over his first five frames before running into trouble in the fifth. In that inning, he was pulled for Kelvin Herrera after giving up four runs. The bullpen would allow an inherited runner to score, charging Chen with his final damage. Chen also struck out two and walked two while taking his fifth loss of the season. (Updated 05/25/2012) |

| Chen saw his ERA rise from 4.17 to 4.81 on Friday as one bad inning ended up doing him in. Still, it was just the third time thus far that he has allowed more than three earned runs in a start. The 34-year-old has proven over the last two seasons that he has a place in Fantasy so keep Chen active in AL-only formats at this point. His next start is scheduled Wednesday against the Indians. In three starts against Cleveland a year ago, Chen went 2-1 with a 3.54 ERA. (Updated 05/25/2012). |
