| Doumit joining Twins: Former Pittsburgh C Ryan Doumit signed a one-year deal with Minnesota on Friday, according to CBSSports.com senior writer Danny Knobler. Doumit battled injuries for most of the 2011 season and managed just 77 games. He finished with a .303 batting average -- his highest since the 2008 season -- with eight homers and 30 RBI. | Fantasy Analysis |
| Doumit declined a team option to stay with the Pirates for the 2012 season and had received several offers from other teams. He is unlikely to play much behind the plate with Twins C Joe Mauer expected to be at full strength for the start of the season. But he has played other positions in his career, including the outfield. Fantasy owners should consider him a low-end option worthy of a selection in the deeper rounds of mixed formats.
