| Mets tab R. Johnson for backup role: CBSSports.com Senior Baseball Writer Danny Knobler reports that the Mets signed C Rob Johnson to a minor league deal on Thursday. Johnson appeared in 67 games for the Padres in 2011, and he hit .190 with three home runs. The Mets had been in the market for a backup catcher, and they appeared to have filled that need with Johnson. (Updated 12/22/2011) |
