Pavelec blanks Red Wings Wednesday: Ondrej Pavelec made 40 saves for his second shutout of the season and his career to lift the Thrashers to a 2-0 victory over the Red Wings on Wednesday night. Pavelec made a spectacular glove save, sliding across the crease, on Henrik Zetterberg's one-time slap shot from the right circle 7:01 of the second period. Pavelec left the crease to make a pass that was intercepted just inside the blue line. Pavelec's record improved to 7-5-3 on the year with the shutout win.
