Khabibulin doubtful for Week 8 slate: The Sports Xchange reports G Nikolai Khabibulin, who came up with a sore back hours before Edmonton's Saturday night game with the Blackhawks, couldn't play Monday against Phoenix and is doubtful for the three remaining games this week. "At this point it hasn't made any progress," coach Pat Quinn said. "So we'll play Jeff Deslauriers and expect that he'll give us the kind of goaltending we need to have."

If you thought Khabibulin was going to get through the season injury-free, you had to be dreaming. He even told the team he wouldn't be able to play a full slate and hold up for the season. It seems as though the veteran goalie is clairvoyant. Khabibulin is going to start most nights when he is healthy, but he is more of a No. 2 Fantasy goalie. The Oilers TG is also a No. 2 option.
