  • Canadiens' Carey Price: Therrien calls report "speculation"

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/12/16) Montreal head coach Michel Therrien called a report that Price (leg) is done for the season with a torn medial collateral ligament in his right knee "speculation," the Montreal Gazette reports.

Therrien dismissed a report from La Presse, going as far as saying he expects Price to be back this season. While Therrien expressed confidence about Price returning this season, he conceded that Price still hasn't progressed to the next phase of his rehab program. The NHL's reigning MVP has skated with trainers, but still isn't at the point where he can don pads and stop pucks.

Canadiens' Carey Price: Report suggests he's done for season

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/12/16) Price is done for the season, reports La Presse out of Montreal, but team managment still refuses to confirm.

Price is dealing with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his knee and has been attempting to rehab it back into playing shape. He'd be in the lineup if he was a skater, but the demands of playing net put extreme stress on the injured area. Surgery has been ruled out to this point. The article suggests the Habs aren't speaking publicly about this and are merely stringing fans along for marketing purposes.

Canadiens' Carey Price: Walking with noticeable limp

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/5/16) Price (leg) was seen walking with a noticeable limp in his right leg following Wednesday night's 4-2 loss to the Flyers, Hockey Inside Out reports.

Two months into Price's injury and he's still limping. This does not bode well for the Canadiens, who are currently tied for 12th in the Eastern Conference after a 5-20-1 stretch since early December. Price has done some free skating, but he doesn't appear to be suiting up anytime soon. The Habs may shut him down for the season and get him ready for October.

Canadiens' Carey Price: Could miss another 3-4 weeks

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/21/16) Price (leg) could be out for another 3-4 weeks with Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin stating that the goalie is "progressing slower than expected," John Lu of TSN Montreal reports.

The Habs need Price back in the worst way, having allowed 24 goals through eight January starts while picking up just two wins along the way. Now, Montreal's in sixth place in a competitive Atlantic Division. Price won the the Vezina Trophy for his efforts in the 2014-15 campaign, which included a 44-16-6 record and 1.96 GAA, and undoubtedly commanded a very high draft pick in fantasy drafts ahead of this season. However, just like the Canadiens, those of you rostering him in fantasy leagues have little choice but to wait out his injury. You could trade him away, but understand that would be selling low on arguably the best netminder in the league.

Canadiens' Carey Price: Skates for first time since injury

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/12/16) Price (leg) was able to get on the ice and do some light skating on Tuesday, TSN.ca reports.

Price has been out since Nov. 25 and is expected to remain out until after the All-Star break. It has been an injury field season for the 28-year-old, suiting up in just three contests since the end of October. When he was healthy, the netminder posted a 10-2-0 record, including two shutouts.
