Devils' Jacob Markstrom: In goal Friday
Markstrom will get the starting nod at home against the Golden Knights on Friday, Kristy Flannery of The Hockey News reports.
Markstrom has managed a decent 4-3-1 record despite posting a 3.22 GAA and .876 save percentage in those eight outings. While the netminder has seen a slightly higher share of the workload, he has been splitting the net with Jake Allen, logging 10 appearances in the Devils' last 18 contests. Heading into a back-to-back, Markstrom will go Friday while Allen figures to get the nod on the road versus Boston on Saturday.

Devils' Angus Crookshank: Called up Friday
Crookshank was recalled from AHL Utica on Friday.
Crookshank will give the Devils an extra healthy forward ahead of Friday's matchup with Vegas but probably shouldn't be expected to play. Still, if the 26-year-old winger does get into a game, it will likely come at the expense of Juho Lammikko, who has already served as a healthy scratch a couple of times this season.

Devils' Luke Glendening: Stuck in slump
Glendening's point drought reached 15 games in Wednesday's 3-0 loss to the Stars.
While none of the Devils had a particularly good game Wednesday, Glendening has now gone over a month without a point. That's to be expected for a player who sees mostly defensive usage in a fourth-line role. The 36-year-old has three assists, 16 shots on net, 35 hits, 23 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating over 27 appearances this season. Glendening's place in the lineup should remain safe until Jack Hughes (finger) is healthy, which isn't expected to happen until early January.

Devils' Jacob Markstrom: Gets little help Wednesday
Markstrom stopped 25 shots in Wednesday's 3-0 loss to the Stars.
The veteran netminder was locked in a scoreless tie with Jake Oettinger through the first half of the game, but the Devils' defense gave Miro Heiskanen plenty of open ice to pot the game's first tally midway through the second period, and the New Jersey offense never woke up. Markstrom has lost three of his last five starts, and since the beginning of November he's gone 5-3-1 in nine outings with a 2.97 GAA and .893 save percentage while splitting the workload in the crease with Jake Allen.

Devils' Seamus Casey: Picks up three helpers in AHL win
Casey posted three assists in AHL Utica's 4-3 overtime win over Rochester on Wednesday.
Casey posted his first multi-point effort of the AHL campaign. He's now at seven assists, 25 shots on net and a minus-1 rating over 11 appearances. The 21-year-old defenseman also saw action in two NHL games earlier in the season, but he went minus-3 and failed to earn a point. His future is bright, but he'll need to show a lot more with the Comets to earn another call-up.

Devils' Brenden Dillon: Expected to play Wednesday
Dillon (undisclosed) is slated to play against Dallas on Wednesday, per Mike Morreale of NHL.com.
Dillon missed the third period of Monday's 5-3 loss to Columbus for precautionary reasons, but it seems he won't miss a full game due to the issue. He has three goals, nine points, 24 PIM, 65 hits and 42 blocks in 26 outings this year.

Devils' Jacob Markstrom: Leaves ice first Wednesday
Markstrom was the first goalie to exit the ice Wednesday, Mike Morreale of NHL.com reports, indicating he'll be in goal at home versus Dallas.
Markstrom has conceded three or more goals in all but one of his last seven outings, posting a 4-2-1 record and .873 save percentage. As long as the veteran backstop can continue racking up wins, the Devils figure to continue rolling him out between the pipes.

Devils' Ondrej Palat: Lights lamp in loss
Palat scored a goal in Monday's 5-3 loss to the Blue Jackets.
Palat snapped an 11-game goal drought with the tally. During that span, he was limited to two assists, both of which came against the Sabres on Friday. Palat is up to five points, 29 shots, 44 hits, 22 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating through 26 outings in a middle-six role. The 34-year-old's lack of offense has reached a new low this year, so most fantasy managers would benefit from looking elsewhere for depth wingers.

Devils' Timo Meier: Pots another power-play tally
Meier scored a power-play goal on four shots, added three hits and went minus-2 in Monday's 5-3 loss to the Blue Jackets.
Meier's point streak is up to six games, and his last two contributions have been power-play goals. The 29-year-old has five goals and three assists during the streak. On the year, he's up to 10 goals, 22 points, 84 shots on net, 55 hits and a plus-1 rating over 26 appearances. He's on track for his best full season in a Devils uniform, assuming he's able to sustain this pace and stay healthy.

Devils' Jesper Bratt: Two more helpers Monday
Bratt picked up two power-play assists in Monday's 5-3 loss to the Blue Jackets.
The 27-year-old winger was unable to find the back of the net for a 12th straight game, but Bratt's been far from quiet during his goal drought, racking up 12 assists during that stretch, including five on the power play. Through 26 contests on the season, Bratt's produced five goals and 26 points with 59 shots on net, 26 hits and a minus-2 rating.

Devils' Nico Hischier: Two-point effort in loss
Hischier scored a goal and added an assist, both on the power play, in Monday's 5-3 loss to the Blue Jackets.
The 26-year-old center extended his point streak to six games when he opened the scoring 86 seconds into the first period on a pass attempt that deflected into the Columbus net off Ivan Provorov's stick. Hischier has erupted for six goals and 12 points during his heater, and on the season, he's up to 10 goals and 25 points through 26 contests as he looks to return to the 80-point plateau for the first time since 2022-23.

Devils' Jake Allen: Downed by Jackets
Allen stopped 19 shots in Monday's 5-3 loss to Columbus.
The Devils gave the veteran netminder a 2-0 lead early in the first period, but Allen saw it slip away over the rest of the night. He's now lost three of his last four starts, although the one win was a shutout of the Sabres last Friday, and on the season, Allen is 8-5-0 through 14 outings with a 2.48 GAA and a .911 save percentage.

Devils' Brenden Dillon: Held out of third period
Dillon didn't play during the third period of Monday's matchup with Columbus for precautionary reasons, Kristy Flannery of The Hockey News reports.
Dillon was injured following a fight with Blue Jackets' Dmitri Voronkov and did initially return to the game before being held out in the third. The 35-year-old Dillon has managed just one goal in his last 19 contests, but did chip in four helpers, 48 hits and 29 blocks. If Dillon suits up against the Stars on Wednesday, he could provide decent category coverage given his ancillary stats.

Devils' Jake Allen: In goal Monday
Allen will get the starting nod at home versus Columbus on Monday, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.
Allen is coming off a 42-save shutout win over the Sabres on Friday, his eighth victory of the year in 13 games. While the 35-year-old backstop remains the No. 2 option behind Jacob Markstrom, he should still see around 25-30 games this year and should be capable of putting up around 15 wins. Look for Allen to be in the crease once during an upcoming back-to-back versus the Golden Knights and Bruins on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

Devils' Simon Nemec: Mixed results Saturday
Nemec scored a goal on three shots, blocked two shots, added two PIM and went minus-4 in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Flyers.
Nemec continues to show growth on offense -- he's earned two goals and an assist over his last five contests. The 21-year-old is seeing top-four minutes, but Saturday's performance was a bumpy one for him after a November that saw him post a minus rating in just two of 14 contests. He's up to six goals, 15 points, 38 shots on net, 39 blocked shots, 14 PIM and a plus-5 rating over 25 appearances this season. Nemec will have a career year on offense with five more points, and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him achieve that before the midpoint of the campaign.
