Neymar scores winning penalty kick, Brazil beats Germany to win Olympic gold
The hosts have won the tournament in the wildest of ways
Brazil has done it. Just two years after getting crushed by Germany 7-1 in the World Cup semifinals on home soil, the South Americans got their revenge.
Brazil beat Germany 5-4 in penalty kicks in Saturday's gold medal game at the Maracana, with Neymar scoring the winning kick as the hosts were perfect from the spot after playing to 1-1 after 120 minutes.

Neymar had opened the scoring in the first half with a perfect free kick, but Maxi Meyer's well-taken goal in the second half evened things up. Neither team would go in front in regulation or extra time as it went to penalty kicks, where Brazil's Weverton came up big at 4-4 with a stop on Nils Petersen, and Neymar finished off the fifth kick to achieve Olympic glory.
The win sees Brazil claim its first Olympic gold in men's soccer. The team lost the 2012 final to Mexico.
