Goodness, gracious. WWE has done a lot of strange over the years, particularly during the Attitude Era, but this one takes the cake.

The company has renamed its July pay-per-view, which has been designated as a Raw-brand show, "Great Balls of Fire."

Seriously.

It was previously set to be called "Bad Blood," a throwback to a nostalgic former In Your House PPV name.

One must believe that "Great Balls of Fire," an homage to the Jerry Lee Lewis song of the same name, will feature that song in some way. WWE did something similar when it nicknamed SummerSlam in 1998 "Highway of Hell" in reference to the AC/DC song.

Either way, it's a strange choice for WWE, which has been very conscious of its PG rating over the last decade. Granted, "balls" isn't exactly a curse word, but it's a lot more risque than WWE has gone in recent years, even if it is tame.

WWE has announced via the American Airlines Center -- which will host the PPV on Sunday, July 9 in Dallas -- that universal champion Brock Lesnar will defend his title at the show.

Lesnar beat Goldberg for the universal title at WrestleMania 33 but has only made one televised appearance since and is not set to show up at the Payback PPV this Sunday in San Jose, California.
