Who's Playing

Penn State @ No. 19 Michigan State

Current Records: Penn State 5-4; Michigan State 8-2

What to Know

The #19 Michigan State Spartans are 7-2 against the Penn State Nittany Lions since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success Saturday. MSU and Penn State will face off in a Big Ten battle at 2 p.m. ET at Jack Breslin Student Events Center. Both teams seek to continue their momentum from their previous wins.

The Spartans were able to grind out a solid win over the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Wednesday, winning 75-67. MSU relied on the efforts of forward Gabe Brown, who had 15 points along with eight boards, and forward Malik Hall, who had 15 points in addition to nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, Penn State made easy work of the Wagner Seahawks on Wednesday and carried off a 74-54 victory. Guard Sam Sessoms and guard Jalen Pickett were among the main playmakers for Penn State as the former had 16 points and five assists and the latter had 16 points. Sessoms had some trouble finding his footing against the Ohio State Buckeyes on Sunday, so this was a step in the right direction.

The Spartans are the favorite in this one, with an expected 9.5-point margin of victory. They have been consistent moneymakers against the spread when favored (5-2), so they might be worth a quick bet.

MSU is now 8-2 while the Nittany Lions sit at 5-4. MSU is 6-1 after wins this season, Penn State 1-3.
