Center Diamond Stone announced that he will play college basketball for Maryland

The 5-star center is ranked number five overall in the 247 Sports Composite rankings and is the rated second among centers.

The 6-10, 246-pounder from Milwaukee's Dominican High is a McDonald's All American. He made the announcement on Twitter.

Stone chose the Terrapins from a final four that also included Wisconsin, UConn and Oklahoma State. He had earlier eliminated Duke, Kentucky and 13 other schools that had offered him a scholarship.

"Maryland's going to have a good team next year and we like coach Turgeon. He's a good guy," Stone's father Bob Stone told 247Sports.com. "It's a good situation. They could have a very good team next year and I know he likes the players there."
