Who's Playing

Georgia @ Texas A&M

Current Records: Georgia 6-21; Texas A&M 16-11

What to Know

The Georgia Bulldogs are 1-6 against the Texas A&M Aggies since January of 2016, but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit Tuesday. UGA and A&M will face off in an SEC battle at 7 p.m. ET at Reed Arena. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

The Bulldogs ended up a good deal behind the Ole Miss Rebels when they played this past Saturday, losing 85-68. One thing holding UGA back was the mediocre play of guard Kario Oquendo, who did not have his best game: he finished with 14 points on 5-for-15 shooting and turned the ball over five times in his 31 minutes on the court.

Meanwhile, A&M was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap this past Saturday as they fell 72-67 to the Vanderbilt Commodores. Despite the loss, A&M got a solid performance out of guard Quenton Jackson, who had 23 points along with six rebounds.

UGA have to know they'll be fighting an uphill battle given the 11.50 point spread they are up against. Those sticking with them against the spread have guts, to put it politely, as the team has let down bettors in their past three games.

The losses put the Bulldogs at 6-21 and the Aggies at 16-11. A couple stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: UGA has allowed their opponents an average of 8.1 steals per game, the fifth most in college basketball. To make matters even worse for UGA, A&M comes into the contest boasting the fourth most steals per game in college basketball at 10.4. In other words, UGA will need to work extra hard to take care of the ball.
