Who's Playing

Fresno State @ New Mexico

Current Records: Fresno State 13-5; New Mexico 7-12

What to Know

The Fresno State Bulldogs won both of their matches against the New Mexico Lobos last season (65-55 and 85-77) and are aiming for the same result on Tuesday. Fresno State's road trip will continue as they head to The Pit at 9 p.m. ET to face off against New Mexico. Both teams are looking to take out their frustrations on one another after having lost close ones recently.

It was close but no cigar for the Bulldogs as they fell 77-73 to the Nevada Wolf Pack last week. Despite the defeat, Fresno State got a solid performance out of forward Orlando Robinson, who posted a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Robinson has had at least 11 rebounds.

Speaking of close games: New Mexico was close but no cigar this past Saturday as they fell 93-91 to the Wyoming Cowboys. A silver lining for New Mexico was the play of forward Jay Allen-Tovar, who had 25 points in addition to six boards.

The Bulldogs are the favorite in this one, with an expected 5-point margin of victory. Those burned by picking them against the spread last Friday might want to keep in mind that the squad has not yet dropped back-to-back games against the spread this season.

The losses put Fresno State at 13-5 and the Lobos at 7-12. A couple defensive stats to keep an eye on: Fresno State comes into the matchup boasting the fifth fewest points allowed per game in college basketball at 57.6. On the other end of the spectrum, New Mexico is fourth worst in college basketball in points allowed per game, with 78.8 on average. So the cards are definitely stacked against New Mexico.
