Purdue turned a four-point deficit into a one point deficit before halftime against Michigan on Friday, thanks in part to an incredible heave from beyond the half-court line from Boilermakers guard P.J. Thompson:
As soon as Purdue came down with the rebound, coach Matt Painter was screaming for his junior guard to get the shot off before the buzzer, according to ESPN.
It’s a good thing he listened to his coach.
Purdue trailed 38-37 at halftime in the Big Ten quarterfinals game, and that buzzer-beater ended an 11-0 run by the Wolverines before the break.
