Who's Playing

Missouri State @ Valparaiso

Current Records: Missouri State 12-6; Valparaiso 8-9

What to Know

The Valparaiso Beacons haven't won a matchup against the Missouri State Bears since March 7 of 2020, but they'll be looking to end the drought Saturday. The Beacons and MSU will face off in a Missouri Valley battle at 5 p.m. ET at Athletics-Recreation Center. MSU should still be feeling good after a victory, while Valpo will be looking to right the ship.

Valpo came up short against the Loyola Chicago Ramblers on Tuesday, falling 81-74. Valparaiso's loss came about despite a quality game from guard Sheldon Edwards, who had 20 points along with seven rebounds. Edwards had some trouble finding his footing against the Southern Illinois Salukis on Saturday, so this was a step in the right direction.

Meanwhile, SIU typically have all the answers at home, but on Wednesday the Bears proved too difficult a challenge. MSU secured an 81-76 W over the Salukis. Guard Isiaih Mosley had 33 points, and this makes it back-to-back games in which he has scored at least 41% of MSU's points.

The Beacons are expected to lose this next one by 4. Their home court has been no bettor's paradise, as they've failed to beat the spread in five of their nine home games.

When the two teams previously met in March of last year, Valpo lost to the Bears by a decisive 66-55 margin. The defeat knocked Valpo out of the playoffs, so expect them to come at MSU with a vengeful fire.
