What to Know

The George Mason Patriots will hit the road for the third straight game as they head to Stuart Siegel Center at 7 p.m. ET Wednesday. Coming off of a loss in a game they were expected to win, the Patriots nows face the more daunting task of proving themselves against unfavorable odds.

It was close but no cigar for GMU as they fell 50-47 to the Fordham Rams on Sunday. Forward Josh Oduro just could not get things rolling his way, picking up four fouls and turning the ball over eight times en route to a 4-for-12, 9-point finish.

Meanwhile, the VCU Rams took their contest against the Richmond Spiders last week by a conclusive 77-57 score. The oddsmakers were on VCU's side, but they didn't give the squad enough credit as the margin was unexpectedly wide. They relied on the efforts of guard Adrian Baldwin Jr., who had 15 points and five assists, and forward Vince Williams Jr., who had 15 points. Baldwin Jr. hadn't helped his team much against Fordham last Tuesday, so this was a nice turnaround for him.

VCU's victory lifted them to 18-7 while George Mason's loss dropped them down to 13-12. We'll see if VCU can repeat their recent success or if GMU bounces back and reverse their fortune.
