One of the nation's top uncommitted cornerback prospects in the 2023 class has made his college pledge. Justyn Rhett, a four-star cornerback from Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas announced his commitment to Notre Dame on Saturday evening on CBS Sports HQ.

Rhett chose the Fighting Irish over Alabama, Georgia, Oregon, USC. The high school junior recently spoke with Irish Illustrated about his feelings on new coach Marcus Freeman's squad.

"The school just feels like a special place," he said. "Even on the visit out with my dad, we really enjoyed the environment and I love the connection I have with the coaching staff."

The 6-foot-1, 192-pound defensive back is ranked as one of the top prospects in the 2023 recruiting class. According to 247Sports Composite rankings, Rhett is listed as the No. 2 player out of Nevada, the No. 10 cornerback and the No. 101 overall prospect. He helped the Gaels post an 11-1 record and a 56-7 win in the 5A state championship game -- their 11th state championship in the last 13 seasons.

Rhett is the seventh prospect to commit to the Fighting Irish during the 2023 recruiting cycle -- all of which are four-or five-star players. That class is currently ranked No. 2 in the country behind Georgia. Needless to say,  Freeman's second recruiting class in South Bend is already shaping up to be a good one. If he can piece together a good class during the current recruiting cycle, it'll go a long way toward Freeman getting championship-level talent in the program.
