  • Panthers' Brady Christensen: Placed on IR following surgery

Carolina placed Christensen (Achilles) on injured reserve Thursday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.

Christensen suffered a torn Achilles in this past Sunday's loss to Buffalo and underwent surgery Wednesday. Jake Curhan is currently atop the depth chart at right guard, though he could fade into a reserve once the Panthers get either Chandler Zavala (knee) or Robert Hunt (biceps) back from injured reserve.

  • Panthers' Brady Christensen: Suffers Achilles injury vs. Buffalo

Head coach Dave Canales said Christensen is feared to have sustained a season-ending Achilles injury during the Panthers' 40-9 loss to the Bills on Sunday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Christensen was carted off the field during the second half of Sunday's game, and further tests seem to have revealed that the fifth-year pro will miss the rest of the season due to a ruptured Achilles. The severity of the injury could also impact his availability for the start of the 2026 season. In Christensen's absence, Jake Curhan is a candidate to start at right guard for the rest of 2025.

  • Panthers' Brady Christensen: Carted off field

Christensen was carted off the field due to an ankle injury and is doubtful to return to Sunday's game against the Bills, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.

Christensen was unable to put weight on his leg and was carted off the field during the second half of Sunday's game. Jake Curhan will likely take over at right guard the rest of the way.

  • Panthers' Brady Christensen: Getting reps at center

Christensen took snaps at center during voluntary workouts last week, Joseph Person of The Athletic reports.

Christensen had been working his way back from a bicep tear he sustained in Week 1 last season, but he's now apparently back in football shape. He could compete with Austin Corbett for Carolina's starting center job in 2024.

  • Panthers' Brady Christensen: Almost fully recovered

Christensen is "basically cleared" heading into the offseason after he tore his right biceps Week 1, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.

Christensen told Kaye that he'll never take the "game for granted again," after he missed all but one contest this season. Barring any setbacks, the BYU product should be able to take part in offseason activities and be the team's starter at left guard next year.

  • Panthers' Brady Christensen: Out for season

Christensen (biceps) won't return this season, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.

Christensen injured his biceps late in Sunday's season-opening loss to Atlanta but was able to finish the contest. However, he was placed on IR on Wednesday and has now been ruled out from returning for the remainder of the campaign. This is a big blow to a Carolina offensive line tasked with protecting rookie signal caller Bryce Young, as Christensen started all 17 contests for the team last year.

  • Panthers' Brady Christensen: Placed on injured reserve

Christensen (biceps) was placed on IR on Wednesday, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.

Christensen suffered the injury late in Sunday's loss to the Falcons and was able to play through it; however, he'll now be forced to miss at least the team's next four games while he recovers from the injury. It's not clear who will take over at left guard for him, but Nash Jensen, Cade Mays and Calvin Throckmorton should all be considered possible candidates.
