Marquiss Spencer: Joins Jets' practice squad
The Jets signed Spencer to their practice squad Tuesday, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports.
Spencer is now slated to operate as one of New York's emergency depth options for the team's defensive line following Tuesday's transaction. The 300-pounder sustained a knee injury during training camp this year and was later let go by Denver with an injury settlement. Spencer's knee issue is now considered a thing of the past given the Jets' willingness to sign him to their practice squad.

Marquiss Spencer: Waived/injured Monday
Spencer (knee) was waived with an injury designation by the Broncos on Monday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
Spencer picked up what was considered a relatively minor knee injury during Denver's practice last Tuesday, but this issue was apparently significant enough for him to get cut Monday. The 2021 seventh-round pick recorded one tackle after he was elevated from the practice squad for the Broncos' regular-season finale last year. Spencer is now set to revert to the team's injured reserve upon clearing waivers.

Broncos' Marquiss Spencer: Suffers minor injury
Spencer was diagnosed with a minor knee injury Tuesday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
Spencer went down with an apparent knee injury during practice Tuesday that required him to be carted from the Broncos' sidelines, per Klis. Therefore, it could be considered fortunate that the 2021 seventh-round pick was not dealt a significant injury based on subsequent medical testing. It's unclear how much time, if any, Spencer may miss this preseason, but he should compete with McTelvin Agim and Eyioma Uwazurike for a spot along the Broncos' defensive line when healthy.

Spencer (undisclosed) was placed on the Broncos' practice squad COVID-19 list Thursday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.

Broncos' Marquiss Spencer: Sidelined at practice
Spencer (ankle) was a non-participant in Sunday's practice, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
Spencer continues to miss time due to an ankle injury suffered midway through Friday's practice. The Mississippi State product was the 253rd selection in the 2021 draft, and now he must overcome missing valuable training camp reps. Spencer likely won't see much game action this season, but his 6-foot-4, 295-pound frame, as well as his athleticism, make the rookie an interesting prospect for the future.
