Astros' Joe Perez: Added to 40-man roster

Perez was added to the Astros' 40-man roster Friday.

The move means Perez won't be available in the upcoming Rule 5 draft. He dominated Low-A and High-A pitching early in the year, hitting .336/.411/.638 with 10 homers in 37 games, but he hit an unremarkable .267/.322/.420 with eight home runs in 69 games after getting promoted to Double-A Corpus Christi.
