Athletics' Jonah Bride: Added to 40-man roster

Bride was added to Oakland's 40-man roster Friday.

The move means Bride won't be available in the Rule 5 draft. He's spent most of his minor-league career at third base but made the majority of his starts in 2021 at first base. That increases the pressure on his bat, but he did manage a .265/.407/.424 line with as many walks as strikeouts in 78 games last season, albeit all as a 25-year-old in Double-A.
