Manager John Gibbons said he has been impressed with Biagini, a Rule 5 selection last winter from the Giants, and expects the 25-year-old to be a valuable part of the Jays bullpen moving forward, USA Today reports.

There was talk of Biagini being optioned to the minors when Marco Estrada returned, but that was not the case, and now it appears he's solidified a spot in the team's bullpen for the foreseeable future. This matters because the Jays are struggling to find answers in their pen right now, and would gladly delegate work to anyone who can hold a lead. Biagini has only appeared in five games this season, but has a respectable 1.35 ERA and seen his workload increase in recent weeks.
