Braves' Andrew McKirahan: Placed on 15-day DL

McKirahan (elbow) was officially placed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday, David O'Brien of the AJC reports.

The young lefty was diagnosed with a torn UCL early in spring training and is likely headed towards his second Tommy John surgery. He was officially placed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday, but he'll likely be transferred over to the 60-day DL in order to clear a spot on the 40-man roster sometime down the line. McKirahan won't likely be back on the mound until next spring.
