Braves' Andrew McKirahan: Transferred to 60-day DL Tuesday

McKirahan (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day disabled list Tuesday, the Associated Press reports.

This move is largely procedural, as it clears up a 40-man roster spot now the left-hander is out for the year. McKirahan will likely need Tommy John surgery to repair his torn UCL, meaning that he probably won't see the field again until next season.
