Geoff Hartlieb: Elects free agency

Hartlieb elected free agency Friday.

Hartlieb was designated for assignment Wednesday and will look for a new home after choosing free agency. The 31-year-old stumbled to a 40.50 ERA in two appearances with the Yankees this season, but he logged a much better 3.34 ERA in 35 innings at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
