Pena got the start at second in place of the sidelined Joe Panik (concussion). He went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in the 13-11 loss to the Athletics.
The utility infielder has been seeing regular playing time over the past nine games, batting .419 over that span. With Joe Panik possibly landing on the 7-day concussion disabled list, Pena's recent run of playing time could be extended. He isn't providing much outside of batting average, but he could have some value as a middle infielder in deeper leagues.
