Guardians' Jake Jewell: Dropped from 40-man roster

Jewell was designated for assignment by the Guardians on Monday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

Jewell had his contract selected by Cleveland on Aug. 6, but he will now either report to Triple-A, get claimed by another team or be released outright. The right-hander failed to enter a game while with the big-league club, last pitching in the majors with the Cubs in 2021.
