Rollins has been officially released by the Giants, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
This is no surprise after Rollins was left off the club's Opening Day roster a few days ago. At 38 years old, it's hard to imagine Rollins wants anything to do with the minor leagues, so he'll test the market and see if there's anybody else looking for a veteran backup infielder. Rollins has managed an OPS over .700 just once in the past four years, so interest will likely be sparse.
