Justin Shafer: Parts ways with Miami

Shafer cleared waivers and was granted his release by the Marlins on Friday.

The 27-year-old was designated for assignment by the Marlins earlier in the week and will hit free agency after going unclaimed on waivers. Shafer appeared in five games this season and gave up eight runs on eight hits with five strikeouts and four walks over 5.2 innings.
