Orioles' Phoenix Sanders: Claimed by Orioles

Sanders was claimed off waivers by the Orioles on Wednesday.

Sanders was designated for assignment by the Rays on Monday but will land a spot on Baltimore's 40-man roster. He won't be available for Wednesday's game against the White Sox, and it's not yet clear whether he'll join the Orioles' bullpen since he was at Triple-A Durham prior to being cast off the Rays' 40-man roster. He's posted a 5.40 ERA and 1.37 WHIP in 30 innings over 25 appearances (one start) at the Triple-A level this year.
