Medina was not present when pitchers and catchers reported to Phillies camp Wednesday due to a visa issue that could take a couple of weeks to resolve, Jim Salisbury of CSN Philadelphia reports.
Medina was acquired by the Phillies in a trade that sent former first-round draft pick Jesse Biddle to the Pirates. The right-hander primarily played in Triple-A in the Cubs organization last season, but is expected to vie for a bullpen spot with the major league club this spring. This will definitely hamper his ability to do so, as he now could be gone until March.
