Rockies' Blair Calvo: Dropped from 40-man roster

Calvo was designated for assignment by the Rockies on Thursday.

This move clears out 40-man roster space for Jorge Alfaro, who is joining the Rockies on Thursday. Calvo made his MLB debut last month and retired all three batters he faced, but the 27-year-old has posted a rough 7.43 ERA in 23 innings this season at the Triple-A level.
