Royals' Clint Barmes: Re-signs with Royals on minor league contract

Barmes re-signed with the Royals on a minor league contract Friday, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.

The Royals released the aging shortstop Monday, but they saw enough value in him to bring him back on a minor league pact. That being said, he'll likely spend 2016 with Triple-A Omaha acting as organizational depth at the middle infield positions.
