Royals' Matt Beaty: DFA'd by Kansas City

Beaty was designated for assignment by the Royals on Tuesday.

The 30-year-old was optioned to Triple-A Omaha on Sept. 7 and has now lost his place on Kansas City's 40-man roster. Beaty played in 30 games between the Giants and Royals this season and has a .230/.347/.295 slash line.
