Twins' Ryan Sweeney: Placed on waivers

Sweeney was released on Friday, the Minneapolis Star Tribune's Phil Miller reports.

He was told that he will not make the Twins roster, which is not surprising, given the young talent in the organization. Sweeney said he hopes to get picked up by another organization and is unsure if he would accept a minor league deal at this point in his career.
