Tyler Thornburg: Let go by Minnesota

The Twins released Thornburg on Sunday.

Thornburg was one of three veteran relievers with prior MLB experience whom the Twins cut loose Sunday, with Juan Minaya and Ben Heller also receiving their walking papers. The 33-year-old right-hander turned in a 5.65 ERA and 1.63 WHIP across 14.1 innings at Triple-A St. Paul this season.
