White Sox's John Danks: Falters to 0-4 after shelling by Orioles
Share Video
Danks (0-4) pitched five innings, allowing six runs, nine hits and two walks while striking out four in Thursday's lopsided loss to the Orioles.
To say Danks has a rough start to his 2016 would be an understatement. After his first four starts, every peripheral suggests he is one of the worst pitchers in the league right now. One of the most glaring numbers is the drop in his fastball velocity which is at an average speed of 87.1 mph, well below any other time in his career. Danks' K:BB is terrible and he's been giving up home runs at a record pace. The 31-year-old lefty has a track record of getting it done in the majors, so it's possible he can turn this around, but many of the early performance indicators are extremely concerning, plus Miguel Gonzalez could be waiting in the wings for a rotation spot.
