White Sox's Matt Foster: To IL with back injury

Foster was placed on the 15-day injured list Friday with a lower-back disc herniation.

The move is retroactive to Sept. 12. Foster has given up two runs in 3.2 innings over four appearances since getting recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Sept. 3. Jake Eder was promoted in a corresponding move.
