The Nuggets waived Cornelie (COVID-19 health and safety protocols) on Sunday, Mike Singer of The Denver Post reports.

Before entering the protocols Friday, Cornelie, a 2016 second-round pick, appeared in 13 games for Denver during his rookie season, averaging 1.1 points and 1.1 rebounds in 2.9 minutes. Though Cornelie was likely to clear the protocols within the next few days, the Nuggets evidently felt they were better served handing his two-way slot to Davon Reed, whose third 10-day contract is nearing its expiration date. Cornelie will likely head to the G League or look to find work overseas in the near future.
