The Chargers signed Lance to a one-year contract worth up to $6.75 million Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Lance is returning for a second campaign in Los Angeles following stints with San Francisco and Dallas. As Justin Herbert's backup last season, Lance saw action in four games (including a Week 18 start versus Denver), completing 27 of 57 pass attempts for 226 yards and a 0:1 TD:INT while adding 17 carries for 85 yards. The mobile quarterback should be the frontrunner to back up Herbert.

The Bengals signed Johnson to a contract Saturday.

Johnson will turn 40 in mid-May, but he's not yet ready to hang up his cleats. This will be his third stint with the Bengals, who are one of 14 teams he's spent time with during his NFL career. Johnson should have a path to working as the backup to QB Joe Burrow, as Sean Clifford is the only other QB currently signed to Cincinnati's roster following the departure of Jake Browning to Tampa Bay.

Tagovailoa officially signed his one-year, $1.3 million contract with the Falcons on Friday.

Falcons GM Ian Cunningham confirmed Friday that Tagovailoa will compete with Michael Penix (knee) for the starting quarterback role in Atlanta, per Marc Raimondi of ESPN.com. Both are oft-injured left-handed quarterbacks, but Tua is the healthier of the two at the moment, as he passed a physical in order to effectuate his contract with Atlanta while Penix is recovering from November surgery to repair a torn ACL. Penix has a chance to be ready for the start of the regular season, but Tagovailoa could have the early edge in Atlanta's QB competition while Penix works his way back into form.

Falcons GM Ian Cunningham confirmed Friday that the team is bringing in Tua Tagovailoa to compete with Penix (knee) for the starting quarterback role, Marc Raimondi of ESPN.com reports.

Tagovailoa has agreed to a one-year, $1.3 million contract with the Falcons and will join the team if he passes his physical. Both Penix and Tua are left-handed quarterbacks who have dealt with numerous injuries. Penix underwent surgery in November to repair a partially torn ACL in his left knee, but he's aiming to be healthy ahead of Week 1. Once healthy, Penix is slated to compete with Tagovailoa for the starting job.

McCarthy (hand) is unlikely to enter Week 1 as a starter after the Vikings signed Kyler Murray, according to Alec Lewis of The Athletic.

For what it's worth, Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell declined to comment on expectations for a 2026 starter when reporters asked him Thursday. Reading between the lines, McCarthy's poor 2025 performance would make him a major underdog if a job battle were to take place, even against a post-prime version of Murray (who turns 29 in August). O'Connell is saying all of the things one might expect about continuing McCarthy's development, but odds are it'll be happening from the bench for at least the early part of the 2026 campaign.

The Vikings signed Murray to a one-year contract Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

With Murray set to collect $36.8 million from the Cardinals in 2026 following his release from the team, Murray will earn the veteran league minimum from the Vikings, according to Schefter. The contract also contains a no-tag clause for next offseason, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Minnesota was always viewed as the likely landing spot for Murray, and he'll now be considered the slight favorite to win the QB1 job over J.J. McCarthy, though this will be one of the more fascinating position battles of the summer. After winning Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2019 followed by back-to-back Pro Bowl selections in 2020 and 2021, Murray's career was somewhat derailed by injuries and poor play. A fresh start appeared to be necessary, and he'll now have Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison at his disposal should he win the job over McCarthy.

The Jets are signing Nwangwu to a one-year, $2 million contract worth up to $3 million with incentives, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Nwangwu had a small role in New York's offense as a depth RB last year, recording 49 yards on 13 carries in 12 games. However, he was a key player on special teams, logging 604 yards and one touchdown on 18 kickoff returns. Nwangwu has recorded five TDs as a kick returner through his first five campaigns in the league, and that should again be his primary role in 2026.

Montgomery and Texans agreed to terms on a two-year, $16.5 million contract Saturday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Per Wilson, Montgomery's new deal comes with a $6.5 million signing bonus, $1.5 million guaranteed in 2026 and $2.5 million guaranteed in 2027. The new contract comes nearly two weeks after the Texans acquired Montgomery from the Lions in exchange for Juice Scruggs, a fourth-round pick and a seventh-round pick. With Joe Mixon (foot) being released by the Texans on March 6 and Nick Chubb entering free agency, Montgomery and Woody Marks are slated to serve as Houston's top backfield options for the 2026 season.

Ford (shoulder) and the Commanders agreed to terms on a one-year contract Saturday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Ford will call Washington his new home after spending the first four years of his NFL career in Cleveland. His most productive year with the Browns was in 2023, when he produced 1,132 yards from scrimmage and nine touchdowns across 17 regular-season games, though he served in a rotational role over the last two years. Ford will now join a Commanders backfield that also consists of Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Rachaad White.

Smith is expected to fill a complementary role alongside Emari Demercado behind Kenneth Walker in Kansas City's new-look backfield, Pete Sweeney of the Kansas City Star reports.

The Chiefs have parted ways with Isiah Pacheco and look unlikely to bring back Kareem Hunt, but Walker's expected to handle the bulk of the rushing workload after signing a three-year contract with the team, leaving Smith and the newly signed Demercado to compete for change-of-pace duties. Smith had 44 carries for 151 yards while adding 25 catches for 172 yards and a touchdown on 35 targets in 2025, showing some promising pass catching skills as a rookie seventh-round pick.

Warren is likely headed for a backfield timeshare in 2026, as Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports Friday that the team has signed Rico Dowdle to a two-year contract.

Warren worked in a backfield timeshare with Kenneth Gainwell in 2025, with the former turning 251 touches into 1,291 scrimmage yards in the regular season while the latter racked up 1,023 scrimmage yards on 187 touches. Gainwell signed a two-year, $14 million contract in free agency with the Buccaneers, while Pittsburgh has brought in Dowdle to replace him on a two-year, $12.25 million contract. Dowdle is coming off consecutive seasons with at least 1,076 rushing yards and runs with more power than Warren or Gainwell, but Warren's likely to see the majority of playing time in passing situations while possibly rotating with Dowdle on early downs.

The Broncos have agreed to terms on a one-year deal with McLaughlin, Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post reports.

Though the Broncos initially declined to offer McLaughlin a contract tender ahead of free agency, the 25-year-old will return to the team after all. The core of Denver's backfield thus remains unchanged from 2025, with J.K. Dobbins having also been re-signed and RJ Harvey back for his second year as a pro. In eight regular-season outings in 2025, McLaughlin carried 37 times for 187 yards and a TD, while adding four catches for 27 yards. Now that he's back in the fold, McLaughlin will reprise his depth role behind Dobbins and Harvey in 2026.

Duvernay and the Cardinals agreed to terms on a one-year, $2.5 million contract Sunday, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports.

Duvernay served as the Bears' primary returner on both kickoffs and punts. He returned 40 kickoffs for 1,069 yards (fifth most in the NFL) and 21 punts for 231 yards across 17 regular-season games in 2025. Duvernay is unlikely to see many snaps on offense in Arizona but should reprise his return role with his new team.

Mooney is slated to sign a one-year, $10 million contract with the Giants, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Mooney entered free agency after he was released by the Falcons on Monday, and it didn't take him long to find a new home with the Giants. He entered the 2025 season with high expectations following a productive 2024 campaign with the Falcons, when he caught 64 passes (on 106 targets) for 992 yards and five touchdowns across 16 regular-season games. Mooney failed to catch more than four passes in each of his 15 regular-season games in 2025 and finished with a 32-443-1 receiving line (on 72 targets). He figures to slide in as the Giants' WR3 behind Malik Nabers (knee) and Darius Slayton for the upcoming season.

Ridley (fibula) has agreed to restructure his contract with the Titans and will be on the team's roster for the 2026 season, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Ridley was slated to earn a $2 million roster bonus by 4:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, which pushed the Titans and the veteran wide receiver to come to a solution on his contract, per Pelissero. The details of how the contract has been restructured has yet to be announced, but the move ensures that Ridley will remain in Tennessee and pair up with free-agent acquisition Wan'Dale Robinson. Ridley was limited to just seven regular-season games in 2025 due to a fractured left fibula that he suffered in mid-November. Prior to the 2025 campaign, the Alabama product logged at least 1,000 yards in three of four seasons, including in his first year with the Titans in 2024 (64/1,017/4 line on 120 targets across 17 regular-season games).

While the Eagles have held conversations with the Patriots and Rams, Brown will not be traded at this time, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reports.

Both the Rams and Patriots have been linked to Brown in recent weeks, as he has familiarity with coach Mike Vrabel from their time together in Tennessee. In Los Angeles, the team needs a third receiver, and the two sides had conversations before the Rams pulled off a deal for Trent McDuffie from the Chiefs last week. According to Russini, talks could heat back up closer to June 1, as no move is believed to be imminent. There's been a whole lot of smoke surrounding Brown this offseason, and that typically indicates there's fire, so a trade can't be written off at some point.

Treadwell and the Colts agreed to terms on a one-year contract Friday, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.

Treadwell opened the 2025 campaign on the Colts' practice squad before being signed to the active roster in early November. He was used almost exclusively on special teams and did not record a target across 10 regular-season games last year. Treadwell will likely reprise his role as a special teamer for the 2026 season.

The Cardinals re-signed Fehoko (wrist) to a one-year contract Friday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.

Fehoko suffered a season-ending wrist injury in Week 10 last season and missed the remainder of the 2025 campaign. A wide receiver by trade, Fehoko played just 37 offensive snaps across eight games but logged another 116 snaps on special teams. He'll compete for a roster spot this summer under new coach Mike LaFleur.

Goedert and the Eagles agreed to terms on a one-year, $7 million contract Sunday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

The Eagles pushed Goedert's void date back to Monday, and the two sides have finally come to an agreement on a one-year deal. The contract agreement means that the Eagles will avoid a $20 million dead cap hit, per EJ Smith of The Philadelphia Inquirer. Questions still hover over the status of A.J. Brown heading into the 2026 season, but the Eagles will at least have a reliable target for Jalen Hurts in Goedert. The veteran tight end led Philadelphia last season with a career-high 11 touchdowns (across 15 regular-season games) and ranked third in catches and receiving yards behind Brown and DeVonta Smith. Goedert will lead the Eagles' tight end group that also consists of Grant Calcaterra, Johnny Mundt and Cameron Latu.

Alie-Cox is re-signing with the Colts on a one-year contract, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports.

Alie-Cox has spent the first eight campaigns of his career in Indianapolis and hasn't missed a regular-season game since 2020. While he hasn't topped 189 regular-season receiving yards since 2021, the veteran tight end has been useful in the red zone, with 12 of his 81 catches going for touchdowns over the past five campaigns. Tyler Warren is firmly established as Indianapolis' long-term starter at the position, but Alie-Cox's return gives the Colts veteran leadership and elite run blocking at tight end.

The Cowboys re-signed Fant on Friday.

The terms of the contract have yet to be announced, but Fant will return to the Cowboys for the 2026 season. He spent most of the 2025 campaign on the Cowboys' practice squad and, and his lone regular-season appearance came in Week 9 against the Cardinals, when he played 11 snaps on special teams without showing up on the box score otherwise.

The Eagles and Goedert have pushed the void date on his contract back to Monday, Zach Berman of The Athletic reports.

The void date on Goedert's deal had previously been pushed back to Friday, but Berman's report relays that the two sides will now have additional time to discuss a possible contract extension for the veteran tight end. Since free agency opened, the Eagles addressed their TE corps by re-signing Grant Calcaterra and bringing in Johnny Mundt, the latter of whom played for the Jaguars last season.

Conklin is signing a one-year contract with the Lions, per his agent Mike McCartney.

Conklin is expected to compete for backup snaps with Brock Wright (neck) behind Sam LaPorta (back). After recording 1,622 receiving yards across three seasons with the Jets, the 30-year-old tight end posted just seven catches for 101 yards with the Chargers in the 2025 regular season.

Ogletree (neck) re-signed with the Colts on a one-year contract Friday, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.

Ogletree has recovered from a neck injury that landed him on injured reserve to finish the 2025 season. He's expected to continue filling a depth role and contributing primarily as a blocker after recording 22 catches for 283 yards and four touchdowns across 44 appearances over the past three regular seasons with Indianapolis.

The Dolphins re-signed Patterson on Thursday.

Patterson's return to Miami makes sense after he started all 17 regular-season games for the team last year, converting an impressive 27 of his 29 field-goal tries and all but one of his 35 PATs. The success Patterson demonstrated makes him the favorite to open 2026 as the Dolphins' starter, and prompted the team to move on from longtime kicker Jason Sanders (now with the Giants) to begin the offseason. Patterson will have competition for the No. 1 gig, though, in the form of new signee Zane Gonzalez.

Slye is re-signing with Tennessee on a one-year contract, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Last year, Slye made 28 of 35 field-goal attempts (80 percent), including nine of 14 from 50-plus yards, but with a lack of extra-point attempts (27) mostly keeping him off the fantasy radar. That's largely been the story of Slye's career: providing a strong leg for subpar teams. It doesn't help that he's never been great in terms of accuracy, with an 81.4 percent career conversion rate on field goals. The Titans may bring in competition later this offseason.

Sanders is signing a one-year deal with the Giants, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Sanders was Miami's kicker from 2018 to 2024, before missing the entire 2025 campaign with a hip injury. He returned to practice at the very end of the season, which suggests he should be back at full health a few months later. Sanders had a career year in 2024, converting 37 of 41 field-goal attempts for the Dolphins. His fantasy value in 2026 will depend on locking down the starting job and earning John Harbaugh's trust on long attempts.

Fairbairn and the Texans have agreed on a two-year deal, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

The contract is a two-year, $13 million extension, which makes Fairbairn the highest-paid kicker in the NFL. The 32-year-old made NFL history during the 2025 season by tying David Akers' 2011 record for most field goals in a single season with 44. This extension will provide key continuity on special teams for the Texans as they chase a fourth consecutive playoff berth in the 2026 season.

Gonzalez has agreed to terms on a one-year contract with Miami, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Gonzalez links forces with the Dolphins in advance of his age-31 season, coming off an impressive 2025 campaign in which he converted 19 of 22 field-goal attempts and 17 of 18 point-after tries while logging nine regular-season appearances with the Falcons. Miami released longtime kicker Jason Sanders in early March and faces the risk of losing Riley Patterson, who was tremendous as the team's starter in 2025, as a free agent. Gonzalez provides the Dolphins with a reliable starting option, though the team could still add competition at the position or work to re-sign Patterson.

Bass (pelvis) agreed to a contract restructure with the Bills on Tuesday, Sal Maiorana of Democrat and Chronicle reports.

Bass, who missed Buffalo's entire 2025 campaign due to a pelvic injury that required surgery, was set to make $4.9 million during the 2026 season. However, he's since agreed to a contract restructure that saves the Bills roughly $1.92 million in cap space for next year. Bass is set to remain Buffalo's top placekicker for 2026, having converted 84.5 percent of his career field-goal attempts, including 69.6 percent from 50-plus yards, since entering the league in 2020.

Jean-Charles agreed to a one-year contract with the Seahawks on Saturday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Jean-Charles was on Seattle's practice squad throughout last season and didn't get into any NFL games. He'll be able to compete for a roster spot during training camp.

The Seahawks signed Igbinoghene to a one-year contract Saturday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.

Igbinoghene is a six-year NFL veteran who has spent time with Miami, Dallas and Washington. Last season with the Commanders, he played in 15 regular-season games (two starts), registering 35 tackles (including 1.0 sacks) and five defensed passes. Igbinoghene also logged some work as a kick returner, taking seven kickoffs for 191 yards (27.3 YPR). He'll likely work in a rotational role at cornerback and serve as a depth option in the return game with Seattle.

Scott is set to sign a one-year contract with the Panthers, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.

Scott started all 17 regular-season games for Carolina last year, recording a career-best 111 tackles along with three defensed passes (including an interception). He also played every defensive snap during the team's wild-card loss to the Rams and racked up nine stops. Scott should reprise his starting role at safety alongside Tre'von Moehrig in 2026.

The Giants re-signed Barnes on Saturday.

Barnes was a sixth-round draft pick of the Jets in 2023 but didn't play any defensive snaps for the team. He linked up with the Giants last year and saw action in 11 games, logging 93 defensive snaps and 168 special-teams snaps while notching 29 tackles (including 1.0 sacks). Most of Barnes' work on defense last year came in Weeks 12 and 13, and he even made a start against New England in that Week 13 game. He'll likely be competing for a depth linebacker role in 2026.

The Ravens signed Okoye to a one-year, $1 million contract Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Okoye came through the International Player Pathway Program and played 13 regular-season games for Baltimore last season, logging 214 defensive snaps and compiling 15 tackles along with a defensed pass. He'll likely continue to serve in a rotational role along the defensive line in 2026.

Jones is signing a one-year contract with the Bears, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Jones entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2022 and has played all four of his pro campaigns with Chicago, though he was briefly on Arizona's roster last offseason. The Ole Miss product has played more snaps on special teams than on defense each of the past three years and figures to continue working as a depth cornerback in 2026.
