  • Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn: Wins it as time expires

Fairbairn converted all three field-goal attempts and two extra-point kicks in Sunday's 23-20 win over the Bills in Week 5. Fairbairn drilled a 59-yarder as time expired to give Houston the win. He had earlier booted a 50-yarder and is now 8-of-9 from the 50 and beyond. This was the third time in five games he's posted double-digit points, and the eight-year veteran is averaging 8.4 points per game. The decision to give Fairbairn a three-year contract in the offseason was a wise one; his leg has been integral in two of Houston's four wins.

  • Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn: Six points in win

Fairbairn successfully converted his lone field-goal attempt and all three extra-point kicks in Sunday's 24-20 win over Jacksonville in Week 4. Houston has been good at finishing drives once it's inside the red zone, but Fairbairn was needed Sunday to drill a 30-yard chip shot. It was his first FGA inside the 40 yard-line. After going for double-digit points the first two weeks, Fairbairn has been held to seven points the last two games.

  • Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn: Little impact in loss

Fairbairn was unsuccessful on his lone field-goal attempt and converted his lone extra-point kick in Sunday's 34-7 loss to Minnesota. Fairbairn was wide right from 54 yards out, the kicker's first miss of the season. After averaging 12 points over the first two games, Fairbairn's Week 3 dud was a disappointment. For the season, he's made seven of eight field goals, including six of seven from the 50 and beyond.

  • Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn: Drills four field goals in win

Fairbairn successfully converted all four field-goal attempts and his lone extra-point kick in Sunday's 19-13 win over Chicago in Week 2. Fairbairn made kicks of 56, 47, 59 and 53 yards, He's opened the 2024 season with a pair of double-digit scoring games, following up an 11-point effort in Week 1 with 13 points in the win over the Bears. He's converted all seven field-goal attempts thus far, including all six tries from the 50 and beyond.

  • Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn: Makes, misses FGA

Fairbairn made one of two field-goal attempts and two of two extra-point kicks in Thursday's 21-17 preseason loss to Chicago. Fairbairn connected on a 33-yard field goal in the second quarter, then missed from long distance -- 58 yards -- just before the game was suspended due to inclement weather. The Texans are confident in Fairbairn, who was unsuccessful on just one of his 28 attempts in 2023 and has a career 87.1 percent FGA success rate. Houston's potentially explosive offense should move Fairbairn up the kicker rankings.

  • Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn: Staying in Houston

Fairbairn agreed Wednesday with Houston on a three-year contract, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. According to Wilson, Fairbairn's deal is expected to be worth $5.3 million annually, which would place him fourth in the league among all kickers. The 30-year-old has spent his entire professional career with the Texans, converting 87.1 percent of field-goal attempts and 92.4 percent of extra-point tries. Fairbairn has attempted exactly six field goals of 50-plus yards in six consecutive seasons, making at least three of those tries each season and 72.5 percent of them for his career. Fairbairn finished third among kickers in fantasy points per game in 2023, though he missed five games in November and December with a quadricep injury.

  • Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn: Misses first kick since Week 2

Fairbairn converted his lone field-goal attempt and two of three extra-point kicks in Saturday's 23-19 win over the Colts in Week 18. Fairbairn converted from 51 yards, the fifth time in six attempts he's been successful from beyond the 50 and was wide left on the extra-point miss. The missed kick was his first of any kind since Week 2, when he was wide on a 51-yard FGA against the Colts. The five points scored Saturday gave him 102 in 12 games. It's the fifth time in seven seasons he's had at least 100 points.

  • Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn: Kicker to Start

Fairbairn was my start kicker in Week 17 against Tennessee, and I'm sticking with him again in Week 18 at Indianapolis. He had four field goals and two PATs against the Titans, and he didn't miss a kick for 16 Fantasy points. He was 2-of-3 on field goals and made two PATs in Week 2 against the Colts, and Indianapolis has allowed seven field goals and four PATs in the past two weeks against Younghoe Koo and Daniel Carlson.

  • Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn: Kicker to Start

Fairbairn was awesome in Week 15 against Tennessee, making all four of his field goals, including a long of 54, and one PAT. He should have the chance for another big outing in the rematch at home, and the Titans are No. 1 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing kickers this year. Four kickers in a row have made multiple field goals against Tennessee, and the Texans offense should be improved in Week 17 with C.J. Stroud (concussion) back in action.

  • Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn: Not needed in blowout loss

Fairbairn did not attempt a field goal and converted both extra-point kicks in Sunday's 36-22 loss to the Browns in Week 16. The Browns struck early and never let up, which limited Houston's need to settle for three points. Not that the Texans had to make any decisions about going for a field goal. Houston's offense had exactly one snap in Cleveland territory over the first three quarters. If C.J. Stroud (concussion) can return for Week 17 against Tennessee, or the team can get competent play from the backup QBs, Fairbairn could be a factor again. The placekicker converted all four field-goal attempts against the Titans in Week 15.

  • Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn: Returns, makes impact

Fairbairn converted four of four field-goal attempts and his lone extra-point kick in Sunday's 19-16 overtime win over the Titans in Week 15. Fairbairn, who was back on the active roster after missing five games due to a quadricep injury, won the game with a 54-yard field goal as time expired in overtime. He had earlier nailed a 53-yarder and a couple of chip shots to keep Houston within striking distance. The kicking game wavered during the stretch when Matt Ammendola replaced Fairbairn, but it looks like Houston's reliable leg is back and ready. Fairbairn's made 22 of 23 field-goal attempts (five of six from beyond 50) and all 15 extra-point kicks.

  • Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn: Ready to kick Sunday

Fairbairn (quadricep) was activated from injured reserve and will serve as the Texans' kicker Sunday against the Titans. Fairbairn hasn't played since Week 10 due a groin injury, but his absence was sorely missed given Matt Ammendola missed three of his nine field-goal attempts over the team's past five games. The Texans offense might be a bit more inefficient without star signal-caller C.J. Stroud (concussion) playing Sunday, so Fairbairn's scoring opportunities could be limited as a result.

  • Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn: Placed on injured reserve

Fairbairn (quadricep) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Fairbairn will miss at least four games after straining his right quad in Sunday's 39-37 win over the Buccaneers. Matt Ammendola was elevated from the practice squad Saturday and will take over as the Texans' kicker beginning with Sunday's game in Cincinnati.

  • Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn: Out for Week 10

Fairbairn (quad) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bengals. The veteran kicker will miss his first game of the season after going 18 for 19 on field goals and nailing all 14 of his extra points through Week 9. Matt Ammendola is on the Texans' practice squad and is expected to be elevated Saturday to handle kicking duties in Sunday's contest.

  • Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn: Still not practicing Friday

Fairbairn (quadriceps) did not participate at practice Friday, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports. Fairbairn did not practice at all during the week, which means he's likely on track to miss his first game of the season in Week 10. Houston will likely elevate Matt Ammendola from its practice squad to fill in for Fairbairn prior to Sunday's game at Cincinnati.

  • Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn: Perfection again

Fairbairn converted two of two field-goal attempts and both extra-point kicks in Sunday's 20-13 win over New Orleans in Week 6. Fairbairn made a couple of chip shots -- 24 and 22 yards -- and has not missed a kick since Week 2. While Houston's offense did a better job of converted its red-zone trips into touchdowns Sunday, the team ranks 26th with a 38.1 percent touchdown rate on its drives that reach the 20-yard line and in. That has helped Fairbairn rise to the top of kicker scoring. His 17 makes lead all kickers and 18 attempts rank second.

  • Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn: Kicker to Start

The Texans offense has been spectacular over the past three weeks, and Fairbairn has attempted three field goals in every game this season. He has one missed field goal in 12 attempts, and he has scored at least eight Fantasy points in every outing. In the past two games against Jacksonville and Pittsburgh, Fairbairn has six field goals and seven PATs, and he's averaging 12.5 Fantasy points over that span. The Falcons have allowed five field goals and four PATs in the past two games against Riley Patterson and Brandon McManus, and Fairbairn should be considered a top-10 Fantasy kicker in Week 5.

  • Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn: Another double-digit week

Fairbairn converted all three field-goal attempts and all three extra-point kicks in Sunday's 30-6 win over Pittsburgh in Week 4. That makes two consecutive weeks of double-digit scoring for Fairbairn, who scored 13 points in Week 3's win over the Jaguars. Houston's offense has showed spunk the last two weeks, scoring 67 points, which has made Fairbairn a legitimate fantasy asset. The 29-year-old has connected on 11 of 12 field-goal attempts and all nine extra-point kicks, and Fairbairn's 42 points rank fourth among kickers.

  • Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn: Produces handsomely in win

Fairbairn converted all three field-goal attempts and all four extra-point kicks in Sunday's 37-17 win over Jacksonville in Week 3. After a couple of serviceable weeks, Fairbairn broke out in Week 3 with 13 points, his first double-digit effort of the season. He ranks third among kickers in scoring with 30 points and is tied for third with nine field-goal attempts over the first three weeks.

  • Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn: Misses field goal in loss

Fairbairn converted two of three field-goal attempts and both extra-point kicks in Sunday's 31-20 loss to the Colts in Week 2. Fairbairn made a couple of chip shots from 29 and 36 yards but was wide left from 51 yards with just over two minutes left in the game. Had he made the kick, Houston would have been down by one score with a chance to tie the game late. Still, it's hard to lay any blame on Fairbairn's leg. The defense was carved up by Gardner Minshew after Anthony Richardson ran for two touchdowns, before he was removed from the game due to a concussion. And the offense didn't get in gear until the fourth quarter. Fairbairn has three field-goal attempts in each of the first two contests.
