Ward (quadriceps) has a small chance to return in time for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports.
Lombardi notes that San Francisco isn't optimistic about Ward's prospects of returning in time for Week 9, stating the more likely scenario is that he remains sidelined for 1-to-2 weeks. He picked up a Grade 1 quad strain in Sunday's matchup against Chicago.
