Smith-Pelly took advantage of his first-line role Wednesday, scoring his second and third goals of the year in a win over the Rangers.
After missing one game with a lower-body injury, Smith-Pelly slotted back in impressively, making the Habs forget all about the loss of Brendan Gallagher for a night. The 15:06 he skated in this one represents a major leap in usage for Smith-Pelly, who hadn't previously seen more than 13:44 of ice time this year. The 23-year-old's got some legit fantasy upside as long as he gets to skate with Tomas Plekanec and Max Pacioretty.
