Capitals' Reid Cooper: Signs amateur tryout Thursday

Cooper will serve as the backup against New Jersey on Thursday after agreeing to an amateur tryout agreement with Washington.

Cooper will be the No. 2 option behind Darcy Kuemper after Charlie Lindgren (undisclosed) was ruled out. The 24-year-old Cooper spent the 2022-23 campaign playing for Curry College for which he posted a 20-6-1 record and .935 save percentage.
