Cunningham cleared waivers Wednesday, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports.
Cunningham was called up from the AHL on Monday and logged 11:08 of ice time against the Penguins. He was then placed on waivers Tuesday. Unclaimed, he returned to Arizona and was skating on a line with Viktor Tikhonov and Boyd Gordon during Wednesday's practice. It's unclear at this point whether he'll stay with the big club or get sent back to the AHL. The 25-year-old winger has one assist in 10 games with the Coyotes this season.
