Flyers' R.J. Umberger: Finally removes monkey from back

Umberger finally notched his first goal of the season Thursday, opening the scoring in a 5-1 victory over the Sabres.

A healthy scratch for the last five games, Umberger's played career-low minutes even when he's been in the lineup this year, and the result has been a continuation of his precipitous decline. He certainly looked the part of a goal-scorer, getting into a prime scoring area and blasting a pass from Sam Gagner by a stunned Robin Lehner. It was his first point since Jan. 5, highlighting the rarity of Umberger's latter-day contributions.
